Epitaph for DOS Gamer
Here would rest his head upon the lap of Earth
A youth to Fortune and to Fame once known.
Fair Copyright frowned not on his humble birth,
And possibly Lawyers marked him for her own.
Many were the games, and their replay value sincere,
Users did a recompense as largely send:
He gave to Gamers all he had, a tear,
He gained from Abandonment some friends.
No player seeks his games to download,
Or draw his forums from their dread abode
(Where we hope Nuclearwinter does decompose),
The bosom of Founder Cyberaxe.
It seems apt to join in this lament
and reminisce o’er times well spent
in forums discussing adult content
that we ne’er more shall grace
May we find comfort just to know
our hard drives contain 1000 free downloads
oh crap the memory is low
I’m running out of disk space
So join us one and join us all
as we discuss the rise and fall
the site that once stood proud and tall
Dos Gamer, laid to waste.

[...] All bureaucrats experience a few days of discourage at some time before they receive their 25-year service pin. Geek poetry can help address this temporary condition. For mournful reading I recommend Epitaph for DOS Gamer. [...]
